MANCHESTER – Manchester United has made the first major purchase for the next season. The English club reached Tuesday an agreement with Sjachtar Donetsk over the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Fred, who for reportedly some 60 million euros to Old Trafford. Fred belongs to the world CHAMPIONSHIPS selection of Brazil.
The 25-year-old international played since 2013, in Ukraine for Sjachtar Donetsk, which Fred this year for the third time champion. In the Champions League did the Brazilian-tinged Sjachtar to spend the winter, in the group with Feyenoord and Napoli for second place behind Manchester City. In the eighth finals was the team from Donetsk eliminated by AS Roma.
Fred must ManUnited creativity. The squad of manager Jose Mourinho ended up in the Premier League, although second behind fellow-townsman City, but for the fans there last season, very little to enjoy.
