AS Roma goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont has officially a point put behind his career. In a letter on the site of Roma was Romanian Saturday his decision known.
“The time has come for a new phase in my life,” said the goalkeeper that from 2000 to 2006 when Ajax played.
The 40-year-old Lobont was there since the summer of 2010, under contract with Roma, but played the last official match in 2013. Then he stood under the crossbar in the 1-0 lost cup final against fellow-townsman Lazio.
Last season was the Romanian as the third goalkeeper in the Italian capital.
The keeper played after his last game for Roma is still two times for the national team of Romania. The 85-fold international sat for the last from the Romanian national selection in november 2017, when he reserve was in the practice duel with the Netherlands (0-3).
Lobont came to 49 matches played for the Amsterdammers. During his time at Ajax he was a year rented out to Dinamo Bucharest.
Further played Lobont even for Rapid Bucharest and Fiorentina.
