,,I have a very good feeling for Excelsior,’ says Mahmudov on the website of the Rotterdam. ,,I am happy with this club, have a good conversation behind it. The whole story appealed to me enormously. Excelsior has become a stable premiere league club. They try as much as possible offensively to play football and that suits me.’

Mahmudov was born in Macedonia, and the family came in 2004 to the Netherlands. Three years later he started in the youth of AGOVV Apeldoorn and was then under thirteen duels in the first division. Through WHC and Excelsior ‘31 he came to PEC Zwolle. ,,That was in the Premier league, but unfortunately that didn’t fully become what I had expected.’

Via a detour, he is now back in the Eredivisie. ,,Excelsior last season, as the eleventh ended, and now wants to address these issues. The last couple of years the club remained very stable in the Premier league, and often with good football. I have good and positive things heard and therefore I have the choice for this club. I go now on holiday, but I have a lot of sense to be on 30 June at Excelsior to get started.”
