To the employment of Peter Blangé at football association KNVB seems to have been an end to come. The performance and innovatiemanager (PIM) with the bond in conversation about a departure, reports a spokesman said Thursday.
Blangé started on 1 February last year in Zeist in his function. The olympic volleybalkampioen of 1996 was brought in by the then technical director Hans van Breukelen.
The 53-year-old Blangé went last year with the KNVB to the battle at the department of soccer technical affairs, who then still headed by Van Breukelen.
A few months later got the ex-goalkeeper, however, with all the criticism he received as a result of all of the events around the appointment of a new head coach.
Blangé has as PIM, the task of the KNVB, the coaches and clubs with innovative and scientific insights.
“One percent difference or a fraction of a second can competitions at the highest level to decide”, said the Voorburger at his appointment. “Research and innovation a contribution to just that to make a difference.”
Blangé took as a volleyball player four times participated in the Olympics. He was a member of Orange in 1996 and gold won in Atlanta four years earlier the silver medal in Barcelona.
He is the record international with 500 international matches. From may 2006 to december 2010 he was the coach of the Dutch mannenploeg.
