Kendrick Lamar on Wednesday in New York, Pulitzer Prize for music. It was the first time in history that the prestigious award is not to a classical or jazz musician.
The rapper did not give any speech during the ceremony at the Columbia University, but responded well briefly on camera in the live stream of the Pulitzer organization. “It is a great honor. I’ve been writing my whole life, so to get recognition like this, that is wonderful.”
Kendrick received the award for his album, Damn. The record was previously awarded with a Grammy, BET Award, American Music Award.
