Film and television director Gilles Coulier signed this week a contract with Uk agency Independent Talent Group, announces the pr-company Post Bills today. Coulier came in sight of the British agency, after directing his debut feature ‘Cargo,’ and the television series ‘The Day’.
The ambition of Coulier is on the international level, both in the television and film industry to break through. But too far away from Belgium wants Coulier are not, because in 2013, the Belgian film director together with actor Gilles De Schryver the production company ‘world Peace’. Therefore, it is the United Kingdom a more informed choice, said Coulier, as he can in international projects work, and to also focus on his production company.
In 2017 ventured Coulier for the first time on a film with the fisherman’s drama ‘Cargo’. The film opened the film Festival of Ostend, and was selected for several international festivals, including in London (BFI) and San Sebastian. Immediately thereafter he began the twelve-part series “The Day” with director Dries de Vos and authors Julie Mahieu and Jonas Geirnaert.
Coulier has also directed two short films ‘Iceland’ (2009) and ‘Mont Blanc’ (2012). Both were selected for the Cannes film festival.
The British agency represents well-known international stars such as actors Anthony Hopkins, Danial Craig, and Orlando Bloom. Gilles Coulier gets two agents assigned to them, one who will represent speelfilmprojecten and the other at televisieprojecten.
