John Terry plays next season for Aston Villa. The 37-year-old Englishman has decided to his contract with the club from the Championship not to renew.
“John has given us what we expected and maybe more than that. We wish him the best in his further career”, writes Aston Villa on Wednesday in a statement.
Terry signed last year for a one-year contract with the club from Birmingham after 22 years for Chelsea had played. With the ‘Blues’ won the defender including five league titles and the Champions League.
In his first and only season at Aston Villa came to Terry to 32 league games. The team of trainer Steve Bruce was close to promotion to the Premier League, but handle in addition to a return at the highest level by the decisive promotieduel with Fulham to lose.
It is not yet known what the next club is for Terry. The 78-fold international of England will reportedly have no point behind his career.
