SINGAPORE – Singapore Airlines is to say that with the longest scheduled flight in the world. Passengers can, from October, every day in almost nineteen hours straight from Singapore to the U.s. city of Newark, fly, message The New York Times.
The air carrier with aircraft of the type Airbus A350-900ULR fly on the route. That twin engined aircraft have additional fuel capacity and are relatively light. Manufacturer Airbus describes the passenger as “extremely efficient”.
Interesting for business travellers
The direct flight is expected to be especially interesting for business. They are, according to Singapore Airlines hours faster than when they stop. The airline flew previously with other devices from Singapore to Newark, but that line was not profitable enough.
The longest scheduled flight in the world is currently of Auckland (New Zealand) to Doha (Qatar). Travelers are than seventeen hours and forty minutes on the road. For comparison: the shortest regular flight connects the islands of Westray and Papa Westray in Scotland. Passengers do not have but a minute and a half in the air.
