Former labelboss Neil Diamond died

This past weekend was the American Russ Regan died. The 89-year-old Regan was producer and owner of various record labels. He hired megastars like Neil Diamond and Elton John and conceived at the beginning of the sixties the name for The Beach Boys. Russ Regan began in the late fifties his impressive career in the music business as a composer and producer. If platenpromotor he delivered The Marvelettes hit with Please Mr. Postman. Then he was in that role successfully for several act of the illustrious Motown label. Also he devised the name for The Beach Boys. The band was under the name of the Pendletons the song Surfin’. Regan found The Beach Boys a better name.
