Mitchelton-Scott is the great slokop of the Hammer Series in the Norwegian Stavanger. The Australian team won after the two puntenkoersen Sunday, also the Hammer Chase, the final team time trial.
In the Hammer Climb and the Hammer Sprint on Friday and Saturday turned out to Mitchelton-Scott already unbeatable, and in the Hammer Chase and about 48,7 miles put the team status is still extra in the paint. The five of Cameron Meyer, Luke Hamilton, Daryl Impey, Roger Kluge and Damien Howson could start with a lead of thirty seconds on Team Sunweb, 58 on Team Sky, and more than a minute on four other teams.
And that bonus expanded Mitchelton only. The team had its lead quickly extended to two minutes, and finally came 2:19 for the second team across the line, good for the day and ended in the three-day. In the battle for the second place was BMC narrowly beaten by Sunweb. Quick-Step Floors finished fourth, Team Sky after a crash as the fifth.
Next week is the second part of the Hammer Series, finished in the Dutch province of Limburg.
