Where the most 60-somethings in a hurry can’t wait until they finally retire, is actor Ian McKellen (79) is still not going to stop working.
“As long as my memory and knees still work, I’m going nowhere,” says McKellen, known for his roles in the X-Men movies, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and The Da Vinci Code to AP.
“My memory and consciousness are still there, and there may come a day when that will no longer do. Then I get probably regret that I do the things I wanted to do, not have done when I was healthy. I am healthy, so I’m still here. And what am I going to at home in hell?”
“I used to always good to be with older actors. They taught and told me things. I thought then: ’one day I am just like you’ and now I’m one of them.”
