Erykah Badu thinks she’s always been a musical talent has been, because the singer himself as 7-year-old girl piano learned to play, and when all music wrote.
“Music has always been an important part in my life,” says Erykah to The Guardian. “We had a radio in the bathroom of my grandmother and that was really always on. My grandfather bought a piano for me when I was seven. I got no music lessons. It was just ’here you have a piano. I climbed up behind it and began to write. Within a week I had all twenty numbers.”
Badu calls herself the Godmother of Soul and says that her fans and aspiring artists of her as a ’cool, older sister’. According to the singer, that is also entirely justified: “Every time I music listen young artists hear talk, that is proven. They thank me all for what I have for them is served.”
