LIEGE – Standard Liege, Michel Preud’homme again hired as head coach. He follows the Portuguese Ricardo Sá Pinto, who, after the final league game before his departure announced.
Preud’homme is well known in Liège; he keepte for Standard, was already twice been a trainer and technical director. ,,Michel is a child of the Standard that the Rouchehuis perfectly know”, says the Walloon club on his website.
The 59-year-old Preud’homme is not only a trainer at the ‘Rouches’, he also acts to the board of directors of the club as a vice-president.
The former international, who is also a season coach of FC Twente, played from 1977 to 1986 in the Standard. In 2001 he returned; first as a trainer (2001-2002) and then as technical director (2002-2006). In 2006, he was again trainer and piloted in 2008, the club to the ninth Belgian title.
