British singer James Arthur has in the making of his hit Say You Won’t Let Go too many listened to The Man Who Can’t Be Moved by The Script. The Irish band suing him for plagiarism, as confirmed by attorney Richard Busch told the BBC.
According to The Script, in Say You Won’t Let Go from 2016 almost identical beats and melodies to be heard as to The Man Who Can’t Be Moved out of 2008. The Irish have the same lawyer hired as the heirs of Marvin Gaye in the much talked about plagiaatzaak against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams over the song Blurred Lines.
Arthur denies that there is plagiarism. Last year he was there already once confronted by The Sun. “It is 2017, there are but seven notes in music,” he said then.
Say You Won’t Let Go, meant the great breakthrough of Arthur. The song was a european hit, including in the Netherlands. In the Single Top 100 and reached the plate in the first position.
