ROME – The intended premier Giuseppe Conte says that his government, the interests of the ordinary Italian wants to represent. But he also acknowledges that the cabinet its European and international obligations to fulfil.
Conte, a barely known professor of private law, a governing coalition led by the right-populist Lega and protestpartij M5S, the Vijfsterrenbeweging. Who promised, inter alia, the regulations of the EU in respect of the monetary union to tackle, something to do with the strict tax regime in Italy and the immigration to a halt.
“I prepare myself now for the interests of all Italians, wherever, in Europe and internationally,” said Conte at reporters after he Wednesday, a mandate had received from president Sergio Mattarella. “I will be the lawyer that the Italian people will defend.”
