WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump says a proposal to have been rejected for one billion dollars (825 million euros) for the construction of a new American embassy in Jerusalem. He argues that the United States is less than a half a million dollars will be spend on the diplomatic post.
Trump is a billion dollars for the construction of a new American embassy in Jerusalem what is on the pricey side.
Trump said at a news conference with German chancellor Angela Merkel that he made the proposal almost had signed. “I had my name already half written when I the amount saw”, he said. The president then asked the ambassador of his country in Israel for clarification. The diplomat would have him assured that the costs significantly could be printed by any existing American building in the city to grow.
Trump finally gave permission to the 300,000 to 400,000 dollars. “It’s beautiful, and possibly somewhat temporarily”, said the president, who last year decided the embassy in Tel Aviv to move to Jerusalem. “This is the way the government works. They were a billion to spend, and now we are going to be much less than a half a million to spend.”
