BRUSSELS – NATO on Friday said goodbye to the place where for more than fifty years the policy of the western alliance is designed, and many a historic decision during and after the Cold War is taken. For the last time met the NATO council of Foreign ministers – the highest body of the alliance – in Room 1 of the headquarters on the outskirts of Brussels.

Over the next few weeks, NATO finally moved into a brand-new, gigantic and more than 1 billion euros standing headquarters on the other side of the Leopold III boulevard in Evere. The move is already in full swing.
