The French stage race Route du Sud, from now on through life as la Route d’Occitanie. This is reported by the organization on twitter. The timetable for the four day long round was also released. Between the five start-up World Tour teams is not a single Belgian team.
The organisation of the Route du Sud on twitter indicated that the race now goes through life as la Route d’Occitanie. The choice falls on that name because the band with the region in which the race is held on that way more clearly would be. Occitanië is a region in the south of France and has Toulouse as its capital. The area connects the Pyrenees with the Mediterranean Sea.
The Route d’Occitanie is a stage race of four days annually in June on the program. For a small number of World Tour teams it is a last preparation for the Tour de France. The course is especially suitable for teams with strong climbers. Therefore, we include Team Sky and Movistar at the start. The Belgian teams will leave the competition left. The final victory was last season for the Swiss rider Silvan Dillier.
