MEXICO CITY – The Mexican police have the suspected killer arrested from the well-known journalist Javier Valdez. This made the minister of Home Affairs known via Twitter.

Valdez (50) was in 2017 shot to death in the state of Sinaloa, in northwestern Mexico. In Sinaloa flared last year, the violence after the arrest and extradition to the US of drugsbaas Joaquin Guzman, nicknamed “El Chapo.” Valdez wrote a lot about the drug gangs in the state and about how dangerous it is for journalists to do their work.
