Errani fell yesterday against Alison Van Uytvanck and today against Elise Mertens its disastrous opslagspel. “Mertens played very well, she was obviously better than me,” said Errani. “I wasn’t able to get my tennis to play.” At the beginning of the second set, was Errani with cramps. “My problem is more mental than physical. That cramps are the result of the tension in my body through personal issues. I’m not serene, I have depression. It has nothing to do with tennis, but I need my head clear.”

Errani, however, remains available for the Fed Cup. “Playing for Italy has always been an honor. Sometimes it is not possible to be present, but normally, one can count on me.”
