Yanina Wickmayer (WTA 107) Friday raft placed for the semi-finals of the WTA tournament in the Chinese Zhengzhou (hard/125.000 dollar).
The 28-year-old Wickmayer, the sixth seed, won in two short sets of the 26-year-old Japanese qualifier Mai Minokoshi (STA 336). After 1 hour and 6 minutes was the 6-1, 6-3 final score on the scoreboard.
To advance to the finals, Wickmayer past the 23-year-old Yafan Wang (WTA 98). The fourth seeded Chinese defeated in her semi-final compatriot Lin Zhu (WTA 129) with 6-4 and 7-6 (7/5). In their only previous duel, in 2013 on a hard court in the Chinese Nanjing, drew Wickmayer with two times 6-2 at the longest end.
Yanina Wickmayer is in Zhengzhou also still active in the doubles. With the British Naomi Broady is the third seed and is also used in the semi-finals.
