FC Utrecht is counting this season, not more on Ruud Boymans.
The 28-year-old attacker still has some more time to be completely fit. “The chance is small that he is still in action,” confirms a spokesperson of the current number five of the eredivisie. “It is a matter of wait and see. He now concentrates fully on his recovery. For the future we keep all our options open.”
Ruud Boymans returned at the end of February back at FC Utrecht. He closed with the beloftenploeg to get back in top condition. That was, however, not entirely according to plan. In the coming play-offs for European football, he will therefore also still missing.
Boymans came between 2014 and 2016 in 24 duels for FC Utrecht and scored nineteen times. In the summer of 2016, he signed for Al Shabab Al-Arabi, a club from the United Arab Emirates. He came little in action and his contract was at the end of last year terminated.
Boymans earlier played for Fortuna Sittard, VVV-Venlo, AZ, NEC and Willem II.
