Reggae Geel is this year 40 years old and wants that on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 August to celebrate with some big names from the last few decades of reggae and dancehallmuziek. On Friday, look for 90’s dancehallartiest Shabba Ranks and the project Havana Meets Kingston from the Australian producer Mista Savona. Saturday the legendary reggaeproducers Sly & Robbie along with the Taxi Gang and reggae legend Lee “Scratch” Perry on the 18″ Corner stage with Mad Professor.
Also high on the bill, we find this year, Romain Virgo, a rising star in the Jamaican firmament that once the Jamaican “Idol” won, and Anthony B, who for the second time at the festival. Also, Cocoa Tea, Protoje, Etana, Samory I, Kabaka Pyramid, Stonebwoy, Jah Shaka, Jah Tubby’s World System, Chainska Brassika, Royal Sounds, The PathHeights, Heavy Hammer, Sentinel Sound, King Addies, Pat Kelly & Magic Touch, David Katz (dj set) and remote access “Sir Jessus” Digby come along.
Reggae Geel counts this year, five venues, but also a wide range of (children’s)animation and a reggaemarkt with clothing, jewelry, records, instruments and art. The presale is today and immediately started.
