Manchester City is by the sportarbitragehof BAG acquitted in a case concerning a transfer of a youth player. The newly crowned English champion pulled the Argentinian Benjamin Garre when they was sixteen, and that was not to the liking of his club, Velez Sarsfield. City risked a transferverbod of two years in the case.
Sarsfield, the Argentinian club of Garre, laid a complaint against the City in 2016. The English club approached the young footballer already on his fifteenth. The wereldvoetbalbond FIFA dismissed the complaint, but the Argentines went in appeal to the BAG. That gave City the same, with as argument that Garre also has an Italian passport. The result was that the transfer to the rules within the European Union.
If the BAG Sarsfield would have given, got City a transferverbod of two years. There escaped the club of the Red Devils Kevin De Bruyne and Vincent Kompany now. The past few years for the same reason, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have a transferverbod. Garre, now seventeen, still waiting for his debut in the first team at City, but is active in the promises.
