Yanina Wickmayer (WTA 107) has placed itself for the second round of the WTA tournament in the Chinese Zhengzhou. She was the former number two of the world, the Russian Zvonareva.
The 28-year-old Wickmayer, the sixth seed, won in the opening round in two sets by Russian Vera Zvonareva (WTA 144): 6-3, 6-4 after 1 hour and 21 minutes. The 33-year-old Zvonareva was at the end of 2010 the number two of the world. In the second round affects our fellow Chinese Wang Xiyu (WTA) 496), which Wickmayers British doubles partner Naomi Broady (WTA 134) off. Wickmayer and Wang met not yet on the WTA circuit.
In the opening round of the doubles to take third reekshoofden Wickmayer and Broady against the Chinese duo Gao Xinyu/Liang Chen.
