FC Sion banned from Europe

FC Sion for the next season suspended for European football.

The Swiss club had failed to address an outstanding bill of € 950,000 to mention it in the enrolment materials for participation this season in the Europa League. FC Sion had that amount payable to the French club Sochaux.

Participation in the European competitions, it is forbidden for clubs that are still unpaid invoices to other parties must comply. FC Sion also serves a fine from 235.000 euros to be paid to UEFA.

FC Irtysj from Kazakhstan was also by UEFA for one season ban for violating the financial rules. This punishment is, however, conditional, with a probation of three years. The club must pay a fine of 435.000 euro.

FC Vojvodina from Serbia and KF Tirana of Albania were 215.000 euros deducted from their premiums from the Europa League due to licensing issues.
