Flanders gets new radio station NRJ

SBS start this autumn with a new Flemish radio station. NJC focuses on active listeners between 14 and 44, and “focuses on their lives and popular music in the Flemish cities”, let SBS know today in a press release.

SBS Media Belgium start the broadcast from this autumn, from Antwerp. The new radio is after the summer via FM, online and via the cable to listen. In the future this will also be via DAB+.

“The strong international brand, NRJ get from the autumn, a fully own creative Flemish interpretation”, says director Tom Klerkx, that both the Flemish radio Nostalgia drives as the new radio NRJ. “On Friday 25th may we are organising in Antwerp, a talent day for young Flemish radio presenters: we give new talent right away the opportunity to this new radio station together creatively to expand. The call will be launched soon.”

Two Flemish media groups form the integral structure of NRJ Vlaanderen: 50 percent “media house” (among other things The Standard/The Nieuwsblad”) and 50 percent of The Pond Media (SBS Media Belgium, Woestijnvis and SBS Belgium with the tv channels to FOUR, FIVE and SIX).
