Arjan Swinkels is wearing next season in the shirt of KV Mechelen. The Dutch defender is about Beerschot Wilrijk and has signed up for a contract of one season.
KV Mechelen were relegated last month from the highest level of Belgian football. “I want to KVM help to get back to 1A,” let Swinkels know on the website of the degradant.
The 33-year-old Dutchman is at KV Mechelen reunited with trainer Dennis Ward, with whom he was in the 2006/2007 season, previously worked with Willem II. Swinkels played less than eight years (2004 to 2012) in the main body of the Tilburg club.
Mechelen, in 1988, winner of the Euopa Cup II, is the third Belgian club of Cent. Besides Beerschot Wilrijk he played from 2012 to 2015, with Lierse SK, then one and one-half years, was active for Roda JC.
Mechelen writes on the website that Swinkels with his “typical winning mentality force required to deliver the necessary experience in the defence”.
