NEW YORK – The discredited casino tycoon Steve Wynn sells a number of exceptional paintings from his collection. That has an insider disclosed. The American billionaire, who in February resigned as chief executive of Wynn Resorts Ltd. after numerous accusations of sexual harassment, the anonymous provider of at least three works of art by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
That will come next month at Christie’s under the hammer. The estimated value of the Wynn inserted cloths is more than 150 million dollars (120 million euros). Both the vendor and the auction house refused to comment.
The most precious painting, in mid-may to the man, is a self-portrait of Picasso as a sailor from 1943. ’Le Marin’ is expected to be 70 million dollar application. Collectors who have an interest in ’Lady with cat on a chair (Picasso, 1964) and ’Double Elvis’ (Warhol, 1963) will also be tens of millions have to resign.
