OPCW investigates attack on Douma

AMSTERDAM – The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is trying to figure out whether this weekend’s chemical weapons have been used in the Syrian rebellenenclave Douma. The organization says the incident will carefully follow and collect additional information “from all available sources.”

A relief agency reported at least sixty dead and thousands injured by the possible poison gas attack. Damascus denied that government forces, an attack had been carried out with chemical weapons. Russia, an ally of the Syrian government, called the accusations nonsense.
