Axelle Red visits Syrians in Jordanian refugee camp

Axelle Red, ambassador of Handicap International, brings next Monday a visit to the refugee camp of Azraq in Jordan. The organization provides aid to people that the Syrian civil war have fled, with particular attention to injured and vulnerable persons. That report Handicap International.

Azraq is a palestinian refugee camp in the desert, 100 km from the Jordanian capital Amman. The teams of Handicap International lead since 2012 activities related to functional rehabilitation (physiotherapy and occupational therapy), offer psychosocial assistance and go to the camps and communities to mobile devices such as crutches, wheelchairs, prostheses and orthotics.

Axelle Red will be in a hospital in Amman also vulnerable refugees to meet. Later this month, on 24 and 25 april during a conference in Brussels about the future of Syria and the region, will be the singer than testify about her visit to Jordan, the consequences of the Syrian conflict and the situation of the refugees.

In Jordan, life is more than 655.000 men, women and children in exile. Approximately 80 per cent live outside the camps. More than 139.000 while others find refuge in the camps of Zaatari and Azraq.
