The documentary Deaf Child of director Alex de Round is in Belgium awarded with a big prize. The film about his deaf son Tobias won Saturday the audience award at Docville, a large documentairefestival in Leuven. Previously won Deaf Child the same price all at the IDFA in Amsterdam.
Deaf Child in the Dutch cinemas, meanwhile, more than 10,000 drawn visitors and was therefore awarded with a Crystal Film. It is the fourth time in three months that this price is issued, a record.
Deaf Child shows how Tobias his turn has found in life and himself, and determined not pathetic. By family movies shows Alex the Round, how his son with his handicap grows up. He maintains a close relationship with his older hearing brother, Joachim.
The film is currently running in 28 movie theaters and cinemas.
