Matthias Sammer returns after almost two years absence back in the German football world.
The 50-year-old German goes as an external consultant to work at Borussia Dortmund, the club where Sammer the last years of his career played and then four years as a trainer. The former international has worked between 2012 and 2016, with much success, as the technical director for Bayern Munich, but earned his contract after a small disorder in the blood flow of his brain was noted.
Sammer appeared since then, only occasionally on tv as an analyst for Eurosport. He will now return to Dortmund. “We have someone like Matthias Sammer,” said managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke in German media. “His analytical ability, his passion, his clear vision.”
