Five years in prison for opposition leader Senegal

DAKAR – opposition leader Khalifa Sall (62) is Friday by the court in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, sentenced to five years in prison. He was together with others including accused of embezzlement and forgery, but the court considered that a part of the complaint not proven. Two employees of Sall, former mayor of Dakar, got the same punishment.

Sall, no family of the incumbent president Macky Sall, to gold as the main opponent in the presidential elections next year. He would be around 2.5 million euros of public funds back have printed.
