Actor Jacob Derwig goes along with the director Jeroen De Man, an adaptation of the novel The Duel by Anton Chekhov. In the show, besides Derwig itself Jacqueline Blom, Teun Luijkx, Joris Smit and Jaap Spijkers.
The piece is in January 2019, is first reported to The National Theatre and Toneelgroep Oostpool Friday.
In the story of Chekhov’s walk the spirits in a sleepy Russian town under the influence of the burning summer sun. Ultimately, the conflict between the hypersensitivity of intellectual Lajevski (George Smith), and the rigid naturalist Von Koren (Jacob Derwig) only be settled by a duel on life and death.
It is the first time that the relatively unknown text by Chekhov in the Netherlands for the scene being edited. Derwig is currently in the cinemas to be seen in the hit film the Banker of the Resistance.
