The new Dutch war film Banker of the Resistance is a big hit in the Dutch cinemas. The story about the brothers Walraven and Gijs van Hall, who in the Second world War, the resistance to the sponsors, within three weeks, 200,000 visitors drawn.
The war drama despite competition from big Hollywoodtitels as Tomb Raider, Black Panther, and Pacific Rim still on the second place of the best visited in the movies, made distributor Dutch FilmWorks Thursday known.
Barry Atsma and Jacob Derwig play in the movie the brothers Hall, who in the Second world War by underground bank the resistance of millions of Dutch guilders helped. Pierre Bokma plays the role of NSB and politician, Meinoud Rost van Tonningen. Rost van Tonningen (1894-1945) collaboreerde during the Second world War with the nazis.
Banker of the resistance is directed by Joram Lürsen, who previously included the mega-hit Love is All. The world premiere of the film took place in the presence of princess Beatrix. The film runs in 135 cinemas.
