PARIS – Thousands of people Wednesday in Paris with a march to the murdered Holocaust survivor Mireille Knoll remembered. Minister of Home Affairs Gérard Collomb, mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris and other prominent politicians came to the Place de la Nation in the east of the capital.
The violent death of the 85-year-old Jewish woman, France has shocked the global and the fuss caused. The police are going off of an anti-semitic motive for the murder.
The woman was Friday found dead in her burned down apartment in Paris. The umbrella organization of Jewish institutions in France (Crif) had called for the herdenkingsmars.
The police have two men held for the murder, among whom a neighbor.
