Jordi Cruyff leaves after this season as head coach at Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Dutchman went six years ago to work in Israel. Cruyff began as technical director at the club, where he collaborated with his fellow countryman, Peter Bosz.
After the dismissal of coach Shota Arveladze, he was interim coach. In the summer of 2017 asked the club to him as a head coach. According to Cruyff, it is time for a change at Maccabi Tel Aviv. “I thought I was here for another few years would continue, but it ends after six years. It is good for the club that there is someone with new ideas. I’m going to surely miss. My time at Maccabi is a very important chapter in my life,” said the son of Johan Cruyff on Tuesday on a press conference of his club, where, among others, the Israeli defender Ofir Davidzala of AA Gent on the payroll. Also Tal Ben Haim (ex-Standard) and Barak Itzhaki (ex-Genk) earn a living.
