Directors Martin Koolhoven and Dana Nechushtan this year, the main DirectorsNL Awards. The awards are presented annually by the Dutch Directors Guild, the Dutch union of directors. The members determine by vote who the awards to receive.

Koolhoven will get the statuette awarded for his western Brimstone, about a girl that is haunted by a demonic priest (Guy Pearce). Nechushtan was awarded as best director of a tv series Hollands Hoop II, which tells the story of an overworked psychiatrist (Marcel Hensema) in Groningen a drugsimperium going to lead.
As the best directed tv program, the satirical programme Sunday, with Well-chosen. The award goes to director Jan Gitsels. The statuette for best documentary goes to Love is potatoes of director Aliona van der Horst.
It was the second time that the DirectorsNL Awards were presented. The figurines are a total of seven categories.
