Six years ago, Cruyff started work in Israel. He started as technical director at the club, where he amongst others worked together with Peter Bosz.
After the dismissal of coach Shota Arveladze, he was interim coach. In the summer of 2017 asked the club to him as a head coach. According to Cruyff, it is time for a change at Maccabi Tel Aviv. “I thought I was here for another few years would continue, but it ends after six years. It is good for the club that there is someone with new ideas. I’m going to surely miss. My time at Maccabi is a very important chapter in my life,” said Cruyff Tuesday at a press conference of his club.
Owner Mitch Goldhar thanked Cruyff for his great dedication to the club. “I hope that we can Jordi is a beautiful farewell with the club. Now the news is known, we can in all peace and a new coach hiring.”
