Gertjan Verbeek is Monday dismissed as coach of FC Twente. The club confirms the dismissal, after the local newspaper Tubantia there is already mention made. Technical director Jan van Halst will continue as commercial director at the club.
Verbeek replaced at the end of October, the dismissed trainer Rene Hake, but knew since then, but one league game to win. That was at NAC Breda (1-2). FC Twente is currently on the last place in the Premier league.
According to Tubantia , the 55-year-old Verbeek held responsible for the poor results. Also would there be of a bad working relationship with players and staff.
The newspaper reports that the decision is taken by the board of commissioners. Who spoke Monday with the executive board, after which the knot was cut to Verbeek on non-active.
