BERLIN – The German minister of Justice has strengthened supervision on companies like Facebook in the prospect. SPD’Katarina Barley sat at the table with top employees of the company because of the scandal around data-researcher Cambridge Analytica.
Facebook promised at the meeting in Berlin, inter alia, to affected users informed. The company gave according to the minister, that in the past there have been abuses. There would meanwhile measures are taken to prevent recurrence.
Barley made it clear that the commitments in her eyes did not go far enough. “Promises are not enough. We need to be in the future much stricter supervision on companies like Facebook.”
