Hundreds of thousands of Americans in Washington DC on the street come up to tougher wapenwetten to requirements. Also in other cities in the world today there is protest.

On Valentine’s day was the 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz at his old school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. There were seventeen deaths. This was not just another massaschietpartij, it appeared that in the days afterwards.

The students of Stoneman Douglas High protested loudly, and held in many national news programs a poignant plea for a stricter arms legislation. They began a national day of action to organize. The protest continued to grow, so that today, a whopping 836 demonstrations for a stricter arms legislation are planned in America, and in the rest of the world.

The initiators hope to half a million participants in the ‘March for Our Lives”. Currently, it is not yet clear how many protestants there are, but according to American media going to be ‘hundreds of thousands’ of people – especially young people.

On the many signs that the participants have are slogans to be read as ‘Don’t Shoot’ (don’t shoot), ‘No more silence’ (No silence) or ‘We are the change ” (We are the change). Also teachers have the way to DC found: “A red ballpoint pen would be my only weapon”, stands on a board reading.
