The winner of the first ever Eurovision song Contest, the Swiss singer Lys Assia, has died. She died Saturday at age 94 in Zurich, so let her partner know.
Lys Assia, the stage name of Rosa Mina Schärer, was in 1956 participated in the festival that took place in the Swiss city of Lugano. Because there are only seven countries meestreden if each country participate with two songs. Lys Assia triumphed eventually, with the French-speaking song Refrain.
