“Rumors” by Fleetwood Mac, “Rhythm is Gonna Get You” by Gloria Estefan and “Raising Hell” by Run-D. M. C. are just a few of the 25 new songs yesterday have been added to the so-called “National Recording Registry”. This archive of the library of Congress adds each year, 25 recordings and songs that are an important cultural, historic or aesthetic value.

In a response to music magazine Rolling Stone called Run-D. M. C.-founder Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons, the selection of his number an incredible honor. “I can’t believe that a creation of mine is now such an honor gained,” explains the hip hop artist in a press release.

Also Gloria Estefan reacts pleased at the selection of her song for the National Recording Registry. “When I was with Miami Sound Machine this song wrote, we have the musical rhythms of Cuba, our homeland, and the United States, our homeland, into one song. It is therefore a particular important honour for us that this number is preserved by the library of Congress.”
