Ronald Koeman has Justin Kluivert advised to stay with Ajax. “I’ve got him talked about,” said the new coach Thursday.

“He talks now with Ajax over a new contract. In my eyes, longer stay in the Netherlands for the best”, said Koeman, a day before his first match as bondscoah against England.

“He is only 18 years old. That is too early to, for example, to the Premier League.”

Kluivert’s been a while in talks with Ajax over a new contract. His current commitment expires in the summer of 2019.

The left of Ajax sang Wednesday at Koemans 55-year-old birthday party for the coach. He was just like the other four debutants (Guus Lift, Wout Weghorst, Marco Bizot and Hans Hateboer) sing a song.

“The youngest was the first,” said Koeman. “So you can guess what song small Kluivert sang. Long he shall live, indeed. Slim male.”

Kluivert played 38 league games in the first team of Ajax, in which he has nine goals made. The son of ex-international Patrick Kluivert can Friday his debut for Oranje in the match against England. The friendly starts at 20.45 hours in the Arena.

On Monday (kick-off 20.30 h) plays the team of Koeman in Geneva, switzerland, in a friendly match against Portugal.
