The winner and the winner of Roland-Garros (27 may to 10 June) will each be 2.2 million euros is yours, that is 100,000 euros more than last year. The total prize pool amounts to 39.2 million euros. That has a tournament director Guy Forget announced Tuesday.
In 2017, the prize money 36 million euros. “There is for this year, around 10 percent”, said Forget on the press release of Roland-Garros 2018, the 117th edition of the French grand slam tournament.
Just like last year, there is again a higher remuneration for the kwalificatiespelers. “Even if you lose in the first round gets a player or a player still 40,000 euros,” said the tournament director. That is 5,000 more than in 2017.
