Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle have the London pastry chef Claire Ptak asked for a lemon-vlierbloesemtaart to make for their wedding on may 19.
According to Kensington Palace contains the cake – “the bright flavors of spring”. The cake is covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers. Allegedly it is the first time that a British couple do not opt for a traditional fruit pie.
Ptak, who by Markle was once interviewed for her lifestylewebsite The Tig, used with particular seasonal and organic products in her cakes.
“I can’t express how honored I am that I am chosen in order to make the wedding cake for prince Harry and mrs. Markle”, responds Ptak towards The Telegraph. “With the knowledge that they, just like I do attach great importance to the origin of food, sustainability, seasonality and taste, this is a wonderful event to be a part of.”
Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring. It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers.
