Actress Cynthia Nixon of the American television series ‘Sex and the City’ wants to be governor of the state of New York. “I love New York and announce today my candidacy as governor,” wrote Nixon yesterday on Twitter. “New York is my home. I have nowhere else lived”, said the actress in an accompanying short video online. “But how much I also of New York love, there has to be some change.”
The past few weeks to stop rumors head on that Nixon, against the incumbent governor Andrew Cuomo wanted to include. The relatively popular Democrat, is serving his second term and wants to this year a shot at a third term.
Nixon, who played cynical lawyer Miranda Hobbes played in the between 1998 and 2004, broadcast of HBO series ‘Sex and the City’ about the adventures of four girlfriends in Manhattan, as it has in the past been more critical concerns about issues in educational policy. Nixon has two children from a former relationship and has been since 2012 married to activist Christine Marinoni. The couple has a son.
