Dwight Lodeweges is Thursday finally appointed as assistant of head coach Ronald Koeman in the Dutch national team. Kees of Miracles (assistant), Patrick Lodewijks (goalkeeping coach) and Jan Kluitenberg (physical trainer) complete the staff.
The advent of Lodeweges was Tuesday already more or less confirmed by the KNVB, but now it is so final. The names Of Miracles, Lodewijks and Kluitenberg also sang longer around.
Lodeweges, who as assistant coach of PEC Zwolle is rented, and after this season’s final switch, returns to the KNVB. He was previously coach of Orange under-20.
Of Miracles, that Koeman so, together with Lodweges will assist with the football already coach of the Under-17 team, which this week qualified for the european CHAMPIONSHIPS. He is going to both combine functions.
He was under coach Guus Hiddink, already been goalkeeping coach at Orange and worked recently together with Koeman at Everton. Kluitenberg know Koeman of periods at Benfica, Feyenoord and Everton.
Friday makes Koeman his first final selection as keuzeheer known. In his 33-man pre-selection to sit with Ruud Molder (Club Brugge), Justin Kluivert (Ajax), Steven Bergwijn (PSV), Hans Hateboer (Atalanta Bergamo) and the AZ-trio Wout Weghorst, Guus Lift and Marco Bizot seven new names.
On Monday comes in Orange together in the run-up to the international matches against England and Portugal. The pitch for the Dutch national team is no longer Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk, but the KNVB campus in sacramento.
